8. What do you feel would IMPROVE this workshop?

  • A list of items that we could have brought with us to share with other departments (i.e. brochures, posters, policies, procedures, videos, etc.)
  • Demographics on the Departments present at seminar
  • More sharing in regards to what others do in recruiting
  • 1)Internet web page projections for the entire class, 2) issue pens with this book
  • More samples of recruit brochures/ advertisements
  • Better Hotel Location (4)
  • More time sharing ideas and time to speak freely
  • Faster pace. This workshop appears to be more geared to people unfamiliar with recruiting strategies and organizational change.
  • Classroom style seating
  • Not so many side conversations

9. Additional comments?

  • Thank you for the exceptional information.
  • Very good, need more time. I can already see that the course will be too short! I'm very interested in follow-up classes on harassment.
  • Consider showing some Departments' recruiting videos.
  • Establish a professional diversity/women law enforcement organization/group.
  • Offer workshop on a regional base/sites multiple locations.

  • Information exchange, lesson plan, binder material
  • The info on mentoring, also the assessment tools section
  • Enjoyed hearing from other agencies
  • Charlotte presentation, meeting others in law enforcement (2)
  • Class participation- learning about other agencies efforts
  • Networking
  • The interaction between departments
  • Participant interaction, written materials
  • Mentoring speakers
  • The interaction with other members of the class, sharing ideas and asking questions

5. What do you feel would IMPROVE this workshop?

  • More info - less assessment tools
  • More time to unite and exchange info
  • My only recommendation is to change training days for a Wednesday and Thursday
  • Presentations on developing a formal mentoring program.
  • More discussion of points in PowerPoint presentation, skimmed over some key points too fast
  • Needs to be 3 days to allow for more discussion.Unfortunately good information got cut off.

  • Very worthwhile. I would like to go to a follow-up session specifically on preventing harassment.
  • This course validates what FHP is doing and we are on track.
  • In our agency different people are responsible for retention and the hiring. I'm just responsible for recruitment. I believe there should be separate training workshops.

  • Know this was the first one, but need to demonstrate more knowledge and updated info on needs
